About

The Australian Vaccination Network is a fringe pseudoscience-based lobby group whose leader, Meryl Dorey, frequently issues pronouncements condemning vaccination – comments which are both factually incorrect and hilarious.

This website showcases some of the best, most classic “Meryl moments”. Enjoy!

current frontpage article on AVN : “Andrew Wakfield – Fraud or victim of pharmaceutical and medical protectionism?” …. Wakfield? Oh, that must be that OTHER scientist who was 100% above board.

Great website! Humour is a good way to deal with this dangerous charlatan. Problem is – there are SO many like her out there peddling all manner of anti-science/medicine claptrap, and so many people think they know what they’re talking about and follow their advice to everyone’s detriment.

Superb work… keep it up. As immunisation rates dip below 70-80% in some areas of NSW it is important to keep hammering home the message. Science is not bad – use your brain and protect yourself, your children and society. Thanks for redressing the balance…

As a measles epidemic now occurs in the UK, many UK parents (in the thousands) are suddenly giving their kids MMR vaccinations:
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2314756/South-Wales-measles-cases-reach-942-tests-death-victim-inconclusive.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

The media follow though of this outbreak’s consequences is starting to occur in Australia with prescient articles like:

The Meryl Dorey’s of this world will ultimately need to justify their position once people, especially kids (in no position to decide on their own life saving immunisation plans), either die or are disabled for life from easily preventable diseases.

Thank you for your extensively researched and erudite efforts on this blog!!!

Thank you for exposing the idiocy of Meryl Dorey and the AVN in such an accessible public forum.
After witnessing the suffering first hand when my own vaccinated son experienced whooping cough as a six year old (as a result of a outbreak in our area no doubt fueled by the non vaccinated children of “conscientious” objectors), it was obvious to me how this devastating disease could easily claim the life of a younger child.
For the first time in my life I feel compelled to make a post on a blog after reading today of the horrendous treatment suffered by the families of baby Dana McCaffery and six year old Michael Kokegei who were reportedly victimised by the AVN after their children died from Whooping Cough and Chickenpox. To the members of the AVN and anti-vaccine lobbyists who told Mrs McCaffery to ” harden the f… up” and phoned Mr Kokegei, telling him that his six year old son ” was obviously weak and the weakest of the herd are not meant to survive”, I hope there is a special place in hell reserved for them where they will experience an eternity of rib breaking pain and suffocation. Maybe then they will appreciate the damage that their joke of an organisation is causing to innocent children suffering and dieing unnecessarily from preventable diseases.
Here’s hoping that childcare centres and preschools in NSW receive the legislative support required to protect the children in their care from the diseases potentially spread by unimmunised children.
Catherine Cusak (From The Backbench – The Sunday Telegraph) reported today that even the Taliban have recently announced an end to their jihad against vaccination. Too bad these terrorists can’t seem to influence the others.

Thank you Kylie. My son Michael should be here with us today. I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion but to be so nasty AVN when people are at their lowest is poor to say the least. My family appreciates the great support that we have received from many others. Thanks again for your comments
      Regards
      Chris Kokegei

Great read, and very enlightening as to how off-track the fanatics are.
It’s frustrating to read their rants and try and speak rationally with anyone, they just shut you down.
    Such a close minded sect.

Very well put together and backed up with examples and evidence. Can’t argue with the evidence.

I came here, thinking this site to be pro Meryl, to explain my concerns about her lack of ethics or morals, her lack of intelligence, her dishonesty, and the harm she was doing. I was delighted to find out I was wrong about you.
Kudos for what you’re doing. 🙂
